Mono Lake (picture 69)

Mono lake has a lot of wildlife associated with it. When we were there it was a very quiet day, and seeing all the birds flying around and on the lake was quite eirie. One thing you can't see are the salt flies. They seem to sit around the edge of the lake in their millions, leaving a black rim around it; it's very strange to see.
