Center Parcs Fire. |
Well, that was a terrifying day.
Mum's ok. Massive fire at Center Parcs today - Mum saw the fire and called in the fire to their emergency number. She was on Duty Manager shift in the morning, so she's been around the Parc all day. And Julian got called in, too, to work in finances - the Bank's gone, being one of the areas that was gutted.
I spent most of the day trying to get some sense out of the media coverage, which is no mean feat, unfortunately. It seems that whilst the jist of the story was reported well, a number of the facts and background seem to have been sketchy at best. I guess it depends on where the original information was obtained.
But, they're ok. Mum has to go and give a statement to the police tomorrow morning as duty manager. I'm knackered just having worried and been doing stuff to research it, and Mum must feel a hundred times worse.

It's shit! |
Mum, why did you get me all this stuff, I mean it's shit for pete's sake.[ I'm a chef ?; Jamie Oliver ] |
I don't like Jamie Oliver. But I honestly misheard the advert. It took about two weeks before I knew what he'd really said - "I'm a chef for pete's sake".
